THE MAIDA VALES

The Maida Vales avoid the usual suspect sounds that we've heard time and time again. Instead, the band favour the more eccentric tones and feel good numbers of the early Rolling Stones, The Kinks, The Doors and the more recent, Dandy Warhols and Supergrass. The Maida Vales keen ear for melody, hooks and groove make for a stand out, whistle blowing, pop-rock sound. Clever arrangements and unexpected harmonies make for an exciting and interesting listening experience, not to mention the bands notorious high energy live shows.

MERCEDES

After falling in love with Major Lazer’s ‘Lazer Sound’, Mercedes decided to try her hand at DJing with the ambition of creating her own unique style.

Training at the London Sound Academy, cutting her teeth at house parties, and recently tearing it up at Bestival and Rize Festival, the 26-year-old Londoner plays a sophisticated blend of house, hip-hop and world music –  mainly falling under the ever-expanding umbrella of EDM.

By day she works at Universal Music, giving her first-hand access to some of the biggest and hottest electronic artists on the planet.

This thirst for fresh sounds inspires much of what Mercedes is about (including current favourites Aazar, Fisher & Jauz), and why she’s played many prestigious events in her short career so far. That said, Diplo is yet to return her DMs.
